GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• CDI is seeking a Marine Equipment Mechanic for US Navy modernization programs.
• This is a Full Time position in San Diego, CA/Norfolk, VA.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Repair and maintain shipboard gasoline and diesel engines.
• Locate and repair machinery parts, including valves and piping systems.
• Operate, maintain, and repair auxiliary equipment, and outside machinery.
• Perform test, transfers, and inventory of lubricating oils, fuels, and water.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School or Vocational Technical School graduate with two years of shipboard experience.
• Journeyman level of ability.
• Job clean up and finishing (painting, sweeping, etc.).

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicant will be subject to a security investigation.  This position may require an additional background screening for base access.
• Applicant must have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance issued by the US Government.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Employee is required to access remote areas of multi-level vessels
• Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
