GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position requires managing a project supporting the development and implementation of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) in-service and modernization programs and initiatives. Modernization programs include DDG, CG, LSD, LHD, and Aegis Ashore. In-service programs include Sustainment, Platform Managers, and Energy Initiatives. Specific project tasks will span System Problem/Improvement Reports (SPIRs), shipboard test coordination, testing support, requirement management support, program management support for Modernization and In Service Programs, advisory tracking, database development/maintenance, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). The ideal candidate will be able to apply knowledge from previous experience managing or executing a majority of these tasks.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Manage and coordinate team providing engineering and technical support for U.S. Navy shipboard HM&E systems and equipment.
  • Assist with budget preparation, program reviews, and program documentation.
  • Provide technical documentation including financial reporting, status reporting, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Track and ensure adherence to program task schedules, costs, and test procedures and/or work packages. Identifies issues and provides solutions.
  • Review reports and briefings prepared by technical staff for quality. 
  • Lead technical discussions for project reviews. Prepare and deliver formal briefings. 
  • Act as primary customer contact, establishing and maintaining regular communication.

 

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Project) and have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Candidate must have minimum of 10 years of program management experience, including managing personnel who provide engineering and/or technical support for U.S. Navy shipboard HM&E systems and equipment.

Preferred experience includes managing or executing: System Problem/Improvement Reports (SPIRs), shipboard test coordination, testing support, requirement management support, program management support for Modernization and In Service Programs, advisory tracking, database development/maintenance, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizenship required. Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a CONFIDENTIAL security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Employee may access remote areas of multi-level vessels
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
