The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for the P&L of the Aerospace Division for Phoenix, AZ.  This position will lead and be an active part of the business development stabilization and growth initiatives, not only for the specific site, but collaborates across all verticals. Additional responsibilities include:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • On-going personal contact with the principals of assigned clients to assess needs, develop creative solutions for better partnerships and quickly resolve any potential problems.
  • Appoint or hire personnel to key positions. Promote the development of employees’ personal growth through training, recognition and compensation in a non-threatening environment supported by open communication.
  • Fiscal management of office to assure maximum profitability.
  • Assess manpower requirements and direct efforts to maintain appropriate staffing to meet the projected workload.
  • Maintain close communications with staff to improve procedures and identify equipment acquisitions that will assist in streamlining production and meet the goal of exceptional quality performance.
  • Assist in business development for targeted potential clients and develop strategies to grow business for the site, as well as across the AIE vertical.
  • Is a champion and motivator, drives a culture of continuous improvement process and customer satisfaction.
  • Development and maintenance of customer relations leading to customer satisfaction; including quality of work, project status, negotiation, work flow and resources, manpower and other organizational responsibilities.
  • Maintains a solid working relationship with the leadership team and has in-depth knowledge of customer’s business, organization, services and needs.
  • Monitors and helps establish measurements and metrics of task delivery performance with respect to cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Interface with Finance to ensure correct and timely billing to the customer, accountability for achieving DSO targets for site.
  • Initial interface with new customers on processes, and job requirements; subsequently coordinates incoming work packages for schedule requirements with team.
  • Develops and identifies the plans, processes, and policies that directly or indirectly improve customer service, quality, resource, environment, etc.; ensures implementation across site.
  • Works with internal business leaders to establish and maintain software requirements along with customer requirements and internal objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that site implements and practices all established company policies/practices including, but not limited to, Employee Relations, PMP, Diversity, Compensation, Quality Assurance, Company Vision, and Financial Auditing standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires a minimum of 15 years related technical experience in engineering, with 5-10 years in leadership/ management roles and/or design center support.
  • Ability to assess business situation and develop and establish priorities.
  • Ability to monitor, measure and establish quantitative and quality standards.
  • Proven leadership skills in an operational environment.
  • Strong customer and employee relations skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and solution implementation skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change in situations or business environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent.
  • Program Management PMP certification or equivalent.
  • 6 Sigma Blackbelt.
