CDI CORP is seeking to hire an experienced Electrical Engineer with 10 years work experience – 5 years experience with power supply design. Direct Position located in Dayton, OH. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

Job Summary:

This position will support the design and validation of circuits and power electronics for aviation applications. The candidate will perform design, development, and test of various circuits, BUC invertors and magnetic components.  The candidate shall work with team members who are designing additional power stage and control/protection components such as (PWB) printed wire board and CCA’s (circuit card assembly), power diodes.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and responsible for the electronics design and testing aspects of the power electronics equipment from conception to production involving significant scope and complexity.

• Execute and complete the electrical design work including any required detailed analysis.
• Detailed analysis shall be performed based on customer requirements, derating requirements, military specifications (MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, etc.), and commercial specifications (DO-160, DO-254, etc.)
• Provide technical leadership and generate ideas to personnel supporting the assigned project
• Strong interpersonal skills.  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Work is to be performed under the direction and guidance of Lead Engineers and the Engineering Project Manager

Job Qualifications & Skills Required:

• BS/MS degree in engineering; preferably electrical power engineering
• 10 years work experience – 5 years experience with power supply design
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Design to Cost
• Working knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, PSPICE and PLECS
• Ability to work in a laboratory or cell environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
