Data Center Construction Project Manager

SUMMARY:

The Data Center Construction Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Construction Director in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction project. The ideal candidate will be required to assist their assigned Construction Director in his daily duties in coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

All items unless stated differently relate to the scope of the role

  • Day-to-day reporting to the project
  • Assist the Construction Director in the planning, organize and overseeing all aspects of the scope of the role on site including Budget, Project Coordination, Weekly OAC Meetings, Meeting Minutes and Documentation, Project Monthly Report Generation, Change Management & Punch-List Management
  • Understand and interpret construction plans, program and package requirements within the scope of the role
  • Review and keep appraised of all site activities.
  • Promote a working environment that encourages employee/sub-contractor involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service, quality, inventory management and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive and complementary technical systems and services
  • Identify potential future suppliers/sub-contractors to support the project delivery

POSITION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Eligible to obtain passport
  • 100% site based in United States

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates ability to plan, set priorities, organizes and coordinates work with others.
  • Builds good relationships and respect with site based personnel
  • Is persuasive, demonstrates diplomacy and tact
  • Demonstrates professionalism (e.g., cooperation, courtesy, assertiveness, and non-defensiveness, accepting constructive criticism, and maintaining confidences)
  • Demonstrates good customer relations skills by providing prompt personalized service
  • Effectively handles stressful situations (resolving conflicts and meeting deadlines)
  • Good knowledge of IT systems and working with online document portals
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software and construction scheduling software

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 year’s experience in technical construction management preferably in data center and telecom infrastructure solutions
  • PMP or equivalent qualification in Project Management
  • Familiar with US building codes
  • OSHA 10-hour trained as a minimum.
  • Evidence of previous experience in similar roles
  • Will require domestic travel with significant proportions of time based on Construction Sites
  • English speaking, excellent skills both reading, speaking and writing
  • Basic CAD knowledge

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assisting the Construction Director with budget management
  • Manage capacity and utilization of Supervisors
  • Timeliness and accuracy of reporting and schedules

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • To start this position will be based on site (US)
  • Variable working hours (after hours, weekends, holidays)
