CDI Inc., is looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of UX Research Assistant II. This is a contract position and the duration is expected to be 12 months+. This would be a W2 position and you would work onsite at the client’s location in Kirkland, WA. The User Experience (UX) team follows a simple premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." UX Researchers strive to learn what they need and want from our products and services. As a UX Researcher, You support user research, analyze real user behavior and work with other senior User Researchers, User Interface Designers, Products Manager and Engineers to improve our product features and develop new ones.

This is a key role that will provide the research team with support and assistance with various aspects of user research, planning and execution. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, enthusiastic about user experience, have an understanding of user research methods and participant recruitment. You will want to run a tight ship and help the researchers do the absolute best user experience research possible. As a Research Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products. We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and can work fairly independently.

Overall Responsibilities:

Propose research questions and tasks. Observing and running usability testing sessions and interviews, and taking notes Administering questionnaires, surveys, and interviews Creating summary documentation for group presentations Conducting basic qualitative and quantitative research

Analyze qualitative & quantitative data.

Prepare research studies with the help of another UX Researchers.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities: Assisting with user testing preparation activities (eg. recruiting participants or other special user types for user research studies, lab setup, study planning, etc.)

Creating findings and recommendation reports from user studies. Integrate recommendations from other UX Researchers into the presentations. Creating highlight videos/screenshots

Required Skills: M.A./M.S. (in progress or completed) in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or related field 2 years of work experience in an applied research setting - Experience planning, conducting, reporting insights from user research Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills Interest in general research and/or user research methods Excellent observation and note-taking skills Detailed oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks Strong oral and written communication skills Can work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects

Nice to Have Skills: Experience working on productivity experiences targeted at technical audiences like developers using tools like Integrated Developer Environments (IDEs) would be ideal Working knowledge of statistics and the principles of experiment design
