CDI Inc., is looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of User Experience Research Assistant. This is a contract position and the duration is expected to be 12 months+. This would be a W2 position and you would work onsite at the client’s location in Mountain View, CA. The role: User Experience Research Assistant

 

As a Research Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly, best-of-breed products that are targeted to digital content (books, music, movies and TV shows). We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, are diligent, detail-oriented, and can work fairly independently.

 

Top Responsibilities:

  • Support ongoing UX research work - survey design and analysis, running or moderating qualitative studies, analyzing data, organizing research session logistics, writing detailed reports.
  • Work with other researchers, designers, product managers, engineers in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.

Responsibilities:

  • Create rich written and visual reports (including creating graphs, highlight videos, slide decks etc.)
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written and oral presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. (completed) or M.A/M.S./Ph.D. (in progress or completed) in Human Factors, Social Sciences, HCI, Computer Science, Product Design, or other field emphasizing human behavior; or in lieu of degree, some related work experience.
  • At least 1 year experience conducting research on consumer-facing experiences.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis
  • Quantitative experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
  • Technical aptitude, familiarity with basic graphic and video editing tools preferred.
  • Experience with one or more of the following methods: usability studies, concept tests, benchmarks, diary studies, interviewing consumers, field research.

Nice to have:

  • OK with flexible working hours
  • Familiar with statistical software, such as SPSS and Qualtrics
