Technical Writer

Project overview:

We are looking for a structured, versatile and experienced technical writer who will play a key role in helping us building our material for developers. If you have experience as a technical writer on teams that were producing an external hardware and software development kit, then we are interested in talking to you. In this role you'll be a critical member of a fast-paced cross-functional startup team and must thrive in a high energy, time-constrained, multitasking environment.

Overall Responsibilities: Write clear and succinct documentation for a developer audience, including SDK tool guides, API how-to guides, and technical concept guides Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by engineers, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing

Design good information architecture, advocate best practices, and foster a culture for documentation. Manage complex documentation projects and maintain organization within a large website

Learn complex technical information and write technical documentation-including architectural overview, programming guides, and tutorials-for engineers.

Manage community-driven docs and drive active contributions.

Edit documents written by others; coach engineers to improve their writing skills.

Required Skills:

Must have 7+ years of experience in creating customer facing and agent facing support content.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project management skills.

Demonstrated ability to grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them to a technical audience.

Proven track record of researching and writing effective documentation for developers, including architectural overviews and programming guides.

Experience working closely with engineers.

Strong project management skills. Edit and clarify source code comments written for code implemented Java, Objective C, C++, Go, or JavaScript. Proficiency with HTML and CSS

Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Nice to have:

Experience with hardware products, a plus.

Has excellent communication skills with the ability to present service vision.

Strong influencing and interpersonal savvy.

BA/BS degree with a strong writing component.
