Our client in the telecom industry is looking for a Solutions Architect on a 6 Months + extension contract.

Location : Saint-Laurent, QC

• Architecture experience with Docker Containers working in a virtualized cloud environment.
• Must have C++ experience. Java and OOD / Object Oriented Design would be nice to have.

Summary

Flexible authentication and security mechanisms are key in the new world of 4G integrated communications and IoT (The Internet of Things). Telecom or ICT operators worldwide are rapidly deploying LTE networks and services like Voice over LTE, Secure VoLTE or LTE Broadcast. Faster networks also enable new IMS services such as RCS, WebRTC and IPTV. In addition, these flexible authentication and security mechanisms will enable the creation of a world where all objects, animals, and people can be associated with unique identifiers and can transfer data over networks without human interaction – ie. IoT.

For these services, operators need to provide Advanced Authentication and Security mechanisms that are both secure and simple for the end-users. The organization’s Authentication Federation Gateway (a.k.a. as AFG) delivers a complete range of advanced authentication and security services.

Job Description

You will develop innovative and high quality software from inception to delivery in a Lean and Agile team environment.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

• Coding, implementation and integration of complex software programs in C++ & Java
• Resolve trouble reports.
• Troubleshoot and debug new or existing software programs.
• Develop and execute unit/basic/function test cases and framework.
• Participate and contribute to improvements of software development (products, processes, methods, tools)
• Participate and contribute to design inspection and / or code review.
• Work in advanced design and / or maintenance activities.
• Perform unit, basic, function and systems testing activities and design / maintenance documentation.
• Perform integration and verification of software on hardware and software platforms
• Design and document the installation and upgrade of software platforms and applications (bare metal, virtualized, and cloud)

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer/Software/IT Engineering, Computers Sciences or equivalent.

Experience: 2-5 years of pertinent experience in software development. Relevant experience in the telecommunications industry and in the open source software community is an asset.

Competence & Experience

• Experience programming in C++ and Java
• Experience working in UNIX/Linux environment
• Experience with Systems Security would be an asset (good understanding of Operating Systems, network security)
• Experience in development of automated test suites and automated test tools
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• IP networks technology
• Telecom networks and telecom standards (eg: HTTP, Diameter, etc)
• Experience with Web Technologies is an asset (i.e. JSP, PHP, REST, JSON)
• Strong computer science foundation
• Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration Skills
