GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

CDI Government Services is currently recruiting two Computer Systems Analysts II (14102) in Norfolk, VA for a SPAWAR program. 

  • Provide assistance solving computer problems, such as malfunctions and program operating problems.  
  • Provide analysis of system and system software and computer equipment. 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Using knowledge of the work processes, applicable regulations, workload, and practices of the facility and its computer users, test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems.  Be responsible for coordinating the installation and upgrade of computer programs and systems. 
  • Create and/or maintain the network of computer systems within the organization to increase compatibility and sharing of information. 
  • Consult with management to determine the system requirements and configuration.  
  • Expand or modify the system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.  
  • Determine computer software or hardware needed to configure and operate the system.  
  • Educate users about new or changed procedures and conduct special projects and upgrades as necessary.
  • Work independently on routine assignments and receive instructions and guidance on complex assignments.
  • Assess the usefulness of available software packages and configure them to meet the needs of the facility. 
  • Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. 
  • Review and analyze system monitors and other performance indicators to locate code problems. 
  • Recommend new equipment or software packages.  
  • Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to customer and senior management as requested.
  • Serve as primary interface and technical contact to customers
  • Manage multiple program components and activities simultaneously, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness is achieved

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completed the following certifications: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP)), or complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), and Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
  • Three (3) years of US Navy Computerized System experience, to include: Maintenance and Sustainment activities that involve troubleshooting (System, Platform, and Application). Software maintenance in software engineering is the modification of a software product after delivery to correct faults, to improve performance or other attributes. Therefore, the support within this PWS covers the maintenance activities into four categories:
    • Adaptive: Modifying the system to cope with changes in the software environment (DBMS, OS)
    • Perfective: Implementing new or changed user requirements which concern functional enhancements to the software
    • Corrective: Diagnosing and fixing errors, possibly ones found by users
    • Preventive: Increasing software maintainability or reliability to prevent problems in the future  
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must have a current Secret clearance and may be subject to a security investigation to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
