GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide engineering, manufacturing and testing support for custom DoD electronics and mechanical equipment.
  • Design, develop and draft Technical Data Packages (TDP) for electronics interface equipment, cable assemblies, and mechanical fixtures.
  • Coordinate with project team leaders and other designers/drafters to maintain project performance and critical project delivery schedules.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Analyze and design custom electronics and mechanical equipment comprising circuit cards, interconnection cables, test sets, mechanical enclosures and holding fixtures.
  • Develop Assembly drawings, custom mechanical parts/fixture drawings, metalwork drawings, cable assembly drawings, System Wiring Diagrams (SWD’s), etc.
  • Establish and monitor milestones for projects.
  • Lead project performance coordinating with other departments to ensure project success.
  • Develop Test Program Set interface hardware for avionics Units Under Test (UUTs).
  • Plan, coordinate, and/or conduct and solve specific, difficult engineering issues requiring substantial analysis and evaluation of causes, effects, and alternatives.
  • Generate electronics end item test procedures and test fixture designs, as well as generating manufacturing assembly work instructions and routers.
  • Research and analyze technical data requirements.
  • Assist in performing internal quality audits.
  • Review technical data packages for product changes, and to estimate manufacturing/testing time.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware development, system integration and manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of VAX/VMS, C#, C++, LabVIEW, Teststand, CASS TPS’s and CASS family of testers is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor 3D, OrCAD CCA design, and analog simulation software.
  • Proficiency in TDP development requirements including ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to work on project teams interfacing with CDI-M&T and customer personnel solving complex technical problems.
  • Excellent communications skills and careful attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated to work autonomously.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles.
