GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

CDI Government Services is currently recruiting a USN Ship Commissioning Director in Norfolk, VA for the Fleet Introduction Support Program. 

  • Responsible for planning and execution of USN ship commissioning events for PMS 339k
  • Lead the Commissioning Support Team
  • Provide subject matter expertise and overarching project planning/ management support to cognizant Program Executive Offices and pre-commissioning crews in a wide range of ceremony related activities including; comprehensive site analysis and pier set up support, invitation/RSVP database management, protocol, ceremony design, operations and logistics, and crew training efforts
  • This position is contingent upon contract award

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Provide coordination and liaison support to a diverse commissioning stakeholder community, encompassing ships' force, commissioning committees, local city, port, and law enforcement officials, media/public affairs, and Navy force protection representatives
  • Duties require strong leadership, project management/planning, technical and communication skills.
  • Assist in the resolution of issues

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in the management of USN programs/projects, including two years of experience in the execution of military ceremonies or special events
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Proficient with Microsoft products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must have a current Secret clearance and may be subject to a security investigation to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
