GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• Full time contractor support needed for GD BIW in San Diego. This tasking is to assist with LCS Class Ships

GENERAL DUTIES:

• The contractor must be able to work independently while ship checking, developing specifications and AutoCAD sketches.
• Contractor shall independently ship check on behalf of BIW to identify non compliment or non-functioning systems or equipment. 
• Contractor shall determine solution and develop Specification iaw the JFMM Appendix 4-E utilizing templates from the Master Specification Catalog (MSC).
• The Contractor will gather and analyze and obtain technical documentation required to support planning efforts. 
• Planner will verify shipboard conditions and required corrective actions prior to work item development.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 10 years demonstrated knowledge of HM&E Systems and Equipment on board U.S. Navy Ships, preferably big decks.
• Experience developing Work Specifications for Mechanical Systems and Equipment
• Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicant will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.  Contractor must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Employee is required to access remote areas of multi-level vessels
• Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
