GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

•             Support the NAVAIR Jacksonville Metrology Division in developing calibration manuals in support of the Navy’s Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) program.

•             Develops detailed Technical manual outlines. Develop Technical manuals from approved outlines.

•             Possesses a detailed knowledge of various Military Specifications and languages including SGML and XML

GENERAL DUTIES:

•             Develop Technical Manuals (TM) designed to provide Calibration Procedures and maintenance instructions for test equipment requiring repair and calibration.

•             Develop Calibration Measurements Requirements Summaries (CMRSs) from engineering data.

•             Read and interpret engineering drawings and models for military equipment.

•             Gather data via “Hands-on equipment / system inspections” while interfacing with government and commercial subject matter experts.

•             Perform Quality Assurance reviews of in-process or completed technical manuals for accuracy.

•             Attend Technical Manual reviews with Government and commercial customers.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

•             High school diploma; a Bachelor’s Degree in English or technical field is a plus.

•             2+ years of experience developing military TMs using military documentation standards.

•             Proficient in XML / SGML tagging.

•             Proficient using Microsoft Word, and Excel.

•             Knowledge of NAVAIR Instruction 17-35 TR-04 is a plus.

•             Knowledge of NAVAIR Metrology policy is a plus.

 

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

•             Applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
