GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• Full time contractor support needed for drafting support for the development of engineering drawings utilizing AutoCAD. This tasking is to assist Norfolk Naval Shipyard Engineering and Planning Department 252 Codes as directed. Requirements include:
• Code 252 Surface Ship Antennas & Riggings and Field Engineering Division Class LHA/LHD Class drawing development to include but not limited to Boat Davits, Mainmasts, Antenna Platforms and Foundations, Handrails, Vertical Ladders and Safety Climb Rails, RAS/FAS Equipment and Foundations, Encapsulated Life Rafts, Rigging Equipment and Procedures

GENERAL DUTIES:

• .The mission of this branch is to furnish drafting services for U.S. Navy L-Deck Amphibious (LHA and LHD).

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• AutoCAD for drawing development – high skill level
• Familiar with ISID Program.
• Writing interoffice correspondence (memos, letter, and reports).
• Familiar with shipyard, local and NAVSEA processes and instructions

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Employee may access remote areas of multi-level vessels
• Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
