GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Support Program Manager Office for Surface Training Systems Program Office (PMS 339) in efforts at the Navy’s Fleet Concentration areas and shipbuilding yards either at government sites or contractor facilities.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Provide the required coordination, advice and technical assistance to all assigned Ship’s Admin and Personnel Offices.
  • Assess staff performance and provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Provide advice and assistance in preparing the appropriate administrative products required to support crew certification, readiness examinations incidental to commissioning/initial fleet service.
  • Provide guidance and support to the ship’s Security Officer/Manager in the development of the Physical Security plan.
  • Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes.
  • Monitor costs and expenses to assist in budgeting. 

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Administrative Assistant Level I:

  • 1 -5 years’ experience as a US Navy Personnel man or Yeoman Rating
  • Pre-commissioning experience desired
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills with employees from all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point.

 

Administrative Assistant Level II:

  • 5 -15 years’ experience as a US Navy Personnel man or Yeoman Rating
  • Pre-commissioning experience desired
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills with employees from all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point

 

Administrative Assistant III:

  • 15 + years’ experience as a US Navy Personnel man or Yeoman Rating
  • Pre-commissioning experience desired
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills with employees from all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point

 

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must have a current Secret clearance, will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Employee is required to access remote areas of multi-level vessels
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
