GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

CDI Government Services is currently recruiting a Test Operations (Lead) Engineer in Washington DC for the IWS 8.0 program. 

  • Overall responsibility for managing the government responsible test program schedule and ensuring sufficient test personnel are available to support the test schedule
  • Responsible for assignments of Test Directors/Operators
  • Reports to the Site Manager

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure systems and resources are ready to begin/sustain un-interrupted test program
  • Assist the sea trial coordinator in planning sea trial activities
  • Assist in the coordination of sea trial testing including training participants on respective test procedures and reviewing status of test results
  • Coordinate daily shipboard testing activities
  • Inform the FTO/FTM of test related issues and requirements
  • Attend HM&E & Combat System meetings to ensure testing milestones are met
  • Track impacts from ship yard work impacting hotel service requirements for Combat System equipment
  • Resolve all testing discrepancies and issues
  • Assess ship’s readiness to continue execution of scheduled test events and report issues FTO/FTM
  • Ensure that all test, training, and operational event reports are collected from their respective team leaders/test conductors
  • Ensure test discrepancies are documented and test reports and test problem reports are promptly submitted

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-10 years of relevant experience and a minimum of BA/BS degree is required in engineering.  A Professional Engineer’s license may substitute for 2 years of experience.  OR 14 years of Professional / Military experience relevant to Navy Surface Ship Combat Systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Proficient with Microsoft products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must have a current Secret clearance and may be subject to a security investigation to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
