Sr Designer, Full time job opportunity

•             Perform intermediate design tasks such as mid-level conceptual design and advanced modeling. Investigate and analyze customer requirements to develop solutions.

RESPONSILBILITIES:

•             Create complex design concepts, layouts, and solutions by investigating and analyzing customer specific problems.

•             Ensure form, fit, and function of multiple components.

•             Understand, perform, and verify Drafter – Designer II duties with minimal guidance.

•             Critical technical decision-making and judgment required to perform routine duties.

•             Gathers and compiles adequate documentation to identify customer’s design standards, specifications and other related technical requirements including identifying hardware and software specifications.

•             Assist in estimating project scope and scheduling.

•             Interfaces with customer on technical issues, scheduling, and quality as directed by CDI management.

•             Proactively identifies problems, issues, and concerns, plans and implements remediation activities.

•             Provide ongoing motivational and coaching support to team to ensure effective team performance and employee development.

•             Complete internal documents and other related duties as required.

•             Conform to company policies and procedures.

•             Improve knowledge of the CDI organization and assist in developing goals.

•             Secondary knowledge of other key clients and industries within Tempe site.

•             Ability and willingness to adapt to changes in the work environment and take a team approach in completing tasks to ensure customer satisfaction.  These tasks may include items normally assigned to Drafter – Designer II..

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Requires AS in Mechanical Design with 8 years of experience; or a minimum of 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Must have demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills ensuring positive customer relations.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proper application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning And Tolerancing) ANSI Y14.5 and dimensional stack-ups.
• Must have demonstrated ability on Pro/E Creo CAD platform to develop design concepts.
