EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous direct customer / supplier interface with positive outcome including alignment of customers and suppliers, especially Honda and Toyota.
  • Previous program / project management experience.
  • Previous process related / tooling history beneficial.
  • Previous APQP experience preferred.
  • Basic CAD, Advanced MS Office experience required.
  • Root cause and problem solving involving data based decision making.
  • Knowledge of welded assemblies, stamping dies, fixtures and gauges, GD&T.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Self-motivated with the ability to execute project plans to meet program cost, quality and timing targets in a corporate environment.
  • Organizational skills necessary to create, collect and maintain company records and meet timelines as may be required.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Spanish, Japanese, and/or German language experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to manufacturing sites, customer and supplier locations as necessary up to 25%.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overseeing the launch of new models and process as well as design change management to ensure cost, quality and timing targets are met. 
  • Window person for non-commercial issues during new model launch
  • Collect, analyze, and communicate divisional manufacturing capacity conditions.  
  • Participate in sourcing decisions based on cost and capacity study. 
  • Facilitate the selection of tier suppliers. 
  • Facilitate kickoff and review activities with tier suppliers and procuring divisions including New Model Reviews and milestone reviews. 
  • Creating, updating and communication of development schedules including customer schedules, build event schedules, tool build schedules and department schedules. 
  • Evaluate project timeliness and status at least weekly to escalate accordingly. 
  • Coordinate the transfer and buy-off of tooling and fixtures based on milestone review approvals and standards criteria.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • College graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience within a similar role.
