Lead Build and Release Engineer 

Description

Our client is developing a wireless device that lets you interact with the digital world, simply by interacting with the physical world in the ways that you always have. They have already built a prototype and successfully incubated core technology combining computer vision, machine learning, optical character recognition, and low power mobile image processing. Now we are building an SDK and application ecosystem to interact with our prototype.

The Role

Looking for an experienced Build and Release Lead Engineer to define, own and manage build infrastructure. You will take full ownership of the Project's Build and Release and provide support for developing build scripts, automation tools, setup continuous build systems like Jenkins etc to help improve overall efficiency of the software development and build process.

Daily Responsibilities Define, own and manage Software Build and Release Process Develop build scripts, tools for automation to improve reliability and performance of build process Setup, maintain and enhance - git version control, Jenkins (CI)

Additional Responsibilties Include: Manual merges of upstream patches, third party libraries etc Release SDK builds and other engineering builds to internal and external partners Develop processes to qualify builds and various milestones in the product development lifecycle Coordinate build release, test / validation efforts with external and internal partners Make quality judgements for build and recommendations to make go / no-go decisions for critical milestones

Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, EE or related technical discipline Minimum 5 years of experience or background in build and release engineering 3-5 years of programming experience with C/C++ or any scripting language - Perl, Python etc Experience with build system such as Make and CMake on large projects Experience using GIT version control systems to manage large projects Experience setting up and/or maintaining CI; Familiarity with Jenkins Basic knowledge of how compilers, linkers, loaders work Skilled problem solver with excellent communications skills Experience with working on open source projects Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively

Nice to have's: Prior experience build and automation for SDKs for Mobile or Imaging devices Familiarity with consumer hardware development process and lifecycle Experience with Profilers (memory as well as run-time) and resource characterization tools such as valgrind, gprof
