The Utility Operator/Technician is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of facility. The Utility Operator/Technician is also responsible for operating and maintaining specific equipment, troubleshooting equipment failures, documenting repairs, assisting in performing daily inspections and preventative maintenance, and performing other tasks that are required or as directed by the terminal management. Policies and procedures must be understood and followed.

Responsibilites:

Conduct all operations in a clean and safe work environment.

• Conduct normal sift operations as required by customer and Operations management.

• Conduct mechanical or electrical changes, repair, or construction items with other appropriate terminal personnel.

• Interface with the customer as needed to ensure the terminal and customer work together.

• Conduct PM procedures and minor equipment repairs to as required and directed by the terminal management. 

• Documentation includes but is not limited to updating documents, pm schedules and checklists.

• Assist with data collection, including equipment downtime and repair metrics

• Maintain field vehicles in top mechanical condition and good appearance both inside & out.

• Follow company policies and procedures pertaining to terminal facilities/equipment maintenance, equipment operation, environmental, and reclamation requirements.

• Perform other tasks that are required or as directed by terminal management.

Operate in a manner where SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT are of the highest importance. 

• Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence. 

• Climb onto top and underneath railcars in order to inspect and seal railcars using a checklist 

• Perform structural inspections as required. 

• Prepare equipment for product transfer. 

• Will be responsible for the operation as it relates to pipelines, compressors, auxiliary, equipment, engines, pump stations, pumps, valves and other related equipment. 

• Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters. 

• Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines, pumps and associated equipment at the compressor stations and pipelines.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers. 

• Preferred experience, skills and knowledge, above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position. 

Physical demands:

  • Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and others within the company 100% of the time.
  • Must be able to reach with arms and hands to perform inspection, maintenance and repair duties when needed.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat 100%.
  • Must be able to see well enough to do paperwork and operate equipment.
