CDI is looking for a Cognos Developer. This position will report directly to our Data Warehouse Architect/Director in designing and developing data warehousing solutions. Position requires hands on experience in designing and developing Data Warehouse Reports/Cubes and supporting the ETL development/processes. The responsibilities will include development and support of Cognos 10.x environment. The suitable candidate should possess a bachelor degree with focus on technology and 5 plus years of proven industry experience. The candidate should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (What do you have to be able to do to achieve the desired results of your job? Include management and leadership responsibilities for work team leaders)

• Translate business requirements into Report design and development activities.
• Build Framework models using disparate data sources. Should have experience building data models in star, snow flake, and relational schemas.
• Develop reports using various Cognos studios (Report studio, Analysis reports studio and Query Studio) as per business requirement.
• Write SQL queries, procedures, views and functions.
• Working knowledge of database queries to improve system performance and data retrieval.
• Support day to day to day production activities. Manage system changes and help resolve production problems

KEY COMPETENCIES (What are the attributes needed to perform the essential duties?)

• Strong technical knowledge of Cognos product suite (FM Model, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio & Data Manager)
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Adapt and deliver to fast changing business requirements.
• Apply sound judgment and decision making while addressing complex business issues with minimal   supervision

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES (What is required to perform essential duties?)

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering.
• 5 plus years of experience in data warehousing design
• Cognos 10.x Data Warehousing technologies
• Experience with Oracle/ SQL Server Database technologies

Knowledge of Data Warehouse and OLAP concepts, best practices, and procedures.
