EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year college degree. 
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-8 years of experience in Human Resources with a specialized focus on Benefits.

     

    SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and proven ability to integrate multiple locations.
  • Excellent organizational skills necessary to create and maintain company records and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills.
  • Japanese and/or Spanish language skills preferred.

     

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

    The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, short- and long-term disability insurance and 401(k), in addition to other supplemental plans and provides support to the plants.

  • Partners with broker and service providers to prepare executive reports and actively monitors plan performance against budgets and strategic goals.
  • Communicates plan performance in a proactive and timely manner to all key stakeholders helping to facilitate changes so that expected landing points can be achieved with minimal surprises.
  • Helps in overall analysis of claims data as well as current local and regional employment trends to assist with the development of cost effective benefits programs.
  • Works to identify cost savings opportunities and/or potential plan modifications for management consideration. 
  • Assists plants with Affordable Care Act and other compliance activities.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS and with the carriers.
  • Leads new hire benefits orientation for the corporate office.
  • Leads the open enrollment process and coordinates with all locations to ensure timely completion.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees in regards to enrollment, claims issues, plan changes, and other general inquiries.
  • Administers all leave of absence requests and paperwork for medical, disability and FMLA leaves.
