Description:

Provide Materials Analysis and Testing services to support all GT Materials data generation to meet customer requirements. Metallurgical services including Material characterizations, material analysis, mounting, polishing and testing. Support Material Lab Work Requests in a timely manner and provide results to Materials Engineer.

Instrument and Test materials for data generation.

1) Provide materials testing services including but not limited to: metallographic preparation and examination, microstructural interpretation, hardness (macro and micro) testing, stress rupture and tensile testing.

2) Provide high quality technical support relating to all aspects of materials testing that may include failure and root analysis of gas turbine components.

3) Provide coating evaluations, including but not limited to TBC, metallic, wear coatings using metallographic testing and examination.

 4) Provide materials testing services including but not limited to: metallographic preparation and examination, microstructural interpretation, hardness (macro and micro) testing, stress rupture and tensile testing.

5) Provide high quality technical support relating to all aspects of materials testing that may include failure and root analysis of gas turbine components.

6)Provide weld coupon evaluation using metallographic testing and examination.

Qualifications and Experience:

University Degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering (Advanced Degree is preferred).

Work experience in Laboratory environment. (min. 3 years is preferred)

Experience in metallurgical aspects of wide range of alloys with emphasis on austenitic and martensitic stainless steels, nickel and cobalt-base superalloys (e.g. metallographic examination and microstructural interpretation) is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to develop and convey thoughts clearly & concisely through both oral & written communication with people throughout the Service & Manufacturing environment. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
