Job Title: Quality Technician

Location: Peru, IN

Shift: 7AM to 3:30PM

Job Description:

This position is accountable for assisting the Engineering, Quality, and/or Manufacturing departments in the areas of quality testing, product audits, inspection, resolution of nonconformance items, prototyping, plant or lab equipment maintenance and enhancement, and/or application support. Keeps detailed records of results and recommendations and provides reports. Trains others on technical and quality issues and methods.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in the design and fabrication of prototypes, products, and product enhancements.
• Inspects materials, parts and/or complete electrical/mechanical switchboards for conformance with industry procedures, specifications and quality standards. May coordinate and allocate workload within the department.
• Conducts testing of prototypes, finished product, parts, units, or processes to ensure quality standards are met.
• Evaluates and initiates resolution of non-conformance of material and/or product.
• Interprets and assists with implementation of Engineering Change Notices.
• Maintains and troubleshoots testing and/or production equipment for various departments within facility. Adjusts and calibrates test and production equipment.
• Assists with new product documentation and introduction. Trains and provides feedback to other members of department and facility on technical and quality matters.
• Provides Engineering, Quality and/or Manufacturing with reports and records of testing, design modification, disposition or quality audits, etc. May communicate and/or coordinate results with other facilities.
• Prepares and maintains inspection and test procedures. Completes special projects and tests as necessary.

Requirements:

Two year degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience (5 yrs. plus) in quality assurance. Journeyman electrician a plus.
