GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

CDI Government Services is currently recruiting a Command and Control (C2) Engineer in Washington DC for the IWS 8.0 program. 

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the Frigate Command Decision (C&D) and Frigate Display System (FDS) are operational and available
  • Reports to the Frigate Combat System Engineering Lead and Frigate Test Officer/ Frigate Test Manger (FTO/FTM) as directed

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the C&D/FDS equipment suites, setup configurations, equipment interfaces, proper activation and operation of C&D/FDS computing environment, configuration, data extraction requirements and interfaces, identification & resolution of system interface issues, assist with test conduct, analyze test results, support of CAPS and LIMS brief, and report findings
  • Assess system installation and performance and report results in support of upcoming milestones
  • Review of related drawings and documents (including test procedures), report findings and recommendations
  • Provide support for crew preparations & training/ trials, data collection, data analysis and fault isolation assistance as needed
  • Report results of testing, special events, troubleshooting, lessons learned as required

 

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-10 years of relevant experience and a minimum of BA/BS degree is required in engineering.  A Professional Engineer’s license may substitute for 2 years of experience.  OR 14 years of Professional / Military experience relevant to Navy Surface Ship Combat Systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Proficient with Microsoft products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must have a current Secret clearance and may be subject to a security investigation to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
