GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

CDI Government Services is currently recruiting a Senior Operation & Management Site Manager in Norfolk, VA for the IWS 8.0 program. 

  • The main responsibility of this management position is providing administrative and contract management oversight for Field Engineers, Test Engineers, IT and logistics personnel supporting waterfront operations associated with the Frigate Test Team (FTT) 
  • The position is ultimately responsible for ensuring that support is properly provided for installation, testing, and trials. Administrative oversight is required for coordination with all other FTT Group Leaders and Shipbuilder personnel on site
  • This position reports to the site manager

 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Supports test team by assisting as required in resource planning and analysis of the test execution schedule, assigning/de-conflicting/ coordinating requested site personnel in support of established milestone objectives
  • Responsible for planning funding for personnel for the periods of performance of the contract
  • Supports ATT in providing assistance in the resolution of any cross-availability support resource issues that may impact accomplishment of established test objectives
  • Supports Site Management in de-conflicting and furnishing Frigate Combat System Technicians (off-peak) upon request to support homeport area fleet technical support requirements (e.g. Tech Assist) as resources are available
  • Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, recognition and disciplinary actions
  • Reviews and approves time charging and business expenses
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance for contract matters associated with FTT contractor efforts
  • Reports to site manager and FTO/FTM as required

 

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a minimum of BA/BS degree is required
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must have a current Secret clearance and may be subject to a security investigation to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
