Job Title: Systems Management Specialist(Web Application Middleware-Distributed)

Work Shift: 1st shift

Weekend coverage is required.

On Call: Needs to be on-call

Travel is not required.

Required Skills:

Manage Service/Problem tickets CA Service Desk Manager promptly and within established SLAs.  Own and modify as appropriate system configuration settings; set best practices and maintenance regime for assigned systems based on requirements of the Director of IT Operations, software/vendor recommendations, experience, and business needs. Ensures the efficient operation of production systems including database, application and web servers. Establishes job automation using scripts and other tools. Ensure proper backup coverage and monitor backup quality with documented test restorations.  Monitors system and application availability and performance information.  Maintain operating system and application current patch levels on all servers.  Provide requirements for Windows Active Directory team to establish correct security profiles on servers.  Work within Company change control and IT security policies.  Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis of basic software and hardware issues.  Responsible for 24x7 on-call problem resolution for production in areas of system expertise, and authority to escalate as necessary.  Application Administrator is required obtain/maintain a cellular phone with Text Messaging capabilities for alerts.  Monitors or runs daily batch jobs and file processing.  Reviews daily logs from batch jobs.  Reviews production system and application logs daily.  Runs ad-hoc batch jobs and SQL scripts on request.  Ensure production backup system is adequate for applications  Ensure applications are setup with the necessary components for Disaster Recovery  Creates and maintains batch files and scripts as required.  Suggests and implements automation as appropriate.  Ability to interact well with employees, vendors and customers.  Research and evaluate problems or technologies outside current knowledge or experience.  Create documentation as required.  Other duties as assigned.
