Laboratory Technician:

• Knowledge of good laboratory practice and the handling of bio-hazards is a must have.
• Performs basic tasks and functions for professional field of work. 
• Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from others. 
• Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex. 
• Assists in the preparation of presentations, reports, spreadsheets and other documents as directed by Specimen Acquisition management.

Data Entry / Computer Systems: 

• Participates in maintaining Specimen Acquisition information, accurately entering data into computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, database, or specialized software packages related to clinical studies, document repositories, and other tools. 
• Supports compiling, analyzing, and interpreting of results.

Laboratory / Procurement: 

• Responsible for assisting in receiving, processing, and recording data related to specimen acquisition shipments. 
• Assist in locating human samples from commercial biobanks or hospitals needed for research activities, write Statement of Work (Orders), and file in electronic document control system. 
• May occasionally be asked to prepare aliquot or test samples in a laboratory setting. 
• Provides support in periodic inspections of equipment

Support: 

• Supports the acquisition of Purchase orders as needed.
