Overview:

Technical writers take complex information and communicate it clearly, concisely and accurately without relying on technical or corporate jargon to explain what they're trying to say. With a unique cross functional perspective, technical writers are the key link between our engineers and cross functional teams. As a Technical Writer, you juggle a variety of projects, from reading and writing example code, to updating FAQs, to drafting product announcements. When a new technical challenge rises to forefront, you are there to defuse it with your clarifying pen (or keyboard, more likely).

As a Technical Writer working on Payments products, you might support some of the world's most popular developer platforms. You will communicate with engineers through conceptual documentation, detailed guides, code samples, API references, and other online materials. You might have a background as a developer, and write as a hobby; or perhaps you're an experienced communicator who loves digging deep into code. One thing is for certain - you are passionate about helping developers do amazing things.

Top Responsibilities 1. Write technical documentation for payments platform, such as signup flows, forms of payments, payments tools, and payments entities. 2. Design and organize documentation sets for engineers, billing integrators and cross functional users. 3. Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex documentation projects.

Reverse engineer sample code to write user oriented documents.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience, such as technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing including experience with writing technical customer-facing materials.
  • Experience with source code written in Java, C++, Python and/or JavaScript.

  • 4 years of relevant work experience, including experience researching and writing excellent documentation for technology development organization.
  • 2 years experience in writing documentation for billing and payments systems and integrations with third party payment processors.
