Operations Manager/Business Manager with IE Background needed for Director of Automation position.

The ideal candidate will have approx. 10+ years industry experience with a heavy knowledge I&E specifically with panels, fabrication, skids, etc.  Candidates should have previous experience with business plans, understand balance sheets and basic accounting.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years related experience in Oil & Gas industry, where automated assembly techniques are utilized. Demonstrated ability to execute strategy and achieve results.
  • Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven experience 3 years of automation projects successfully completed.
  • Business Development experience (strong collaboration with clients) – strongly preferred. 
  • Possess a proven track record of delivering results, demonstrated business acumen and a basic understanding of the P&L and balance sheet are required.
  • Demonstrated competency in development and execution of strategy as well as in management of day?to?day operations.
  • A mindset that balances both thought and innovation with direct and successful execution is critical.

  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management system standards.
  • Understanding of general project planning principles is expected.
  • Familiarity with Common Industry Standards & Practices in Control & Automation, Lean Manufacturing.
  • Must be a strong leader who is capable of managing multiple deliverables simultaneously. The candidate will be escalated by company to customer to address current or future needs in their area of responsibility.
  • Must have a strong business and technical acumen for all that is delivered by company to the customer and have the ability to discuss at an executive level. The candidate’s leadership will be counted upon for significant communications with the customer and to assist with proposals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues, remediation plans and status on major initiatives to all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to direct and interact during major initiatives.
  • An understanding of basic project management principals is necessary due to the significant amount of projects that the candidate’s team will be responsible to deliver. Must have the ability to review detailed project plans and identify major oversights.
  • Ability to understand basic accounting principles and to forecast budgets and/or sales initiatives.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Control Engineering / Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business strongly preferred.
