Job Title: Technical Program Manager

Location: Mountain View, CA

Client: TBA

Employment Status: CTH (Project duration is 6-month, then conversion to Full Time is expected shortly thereafter). Must be able to work on CDI's W2 without restriction.

Shift/Hours: M-F, 9-5pm, Must be on-site, no travel is required, and relocation is not desired (seeking SF Bay Area residents). 

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position requires an individual to perform project and program management function in the organization where all the deliverables/executions are done by scrum teams and scrum masters.  Hence, this individual needs to understand how projects are planned and carried forward in the world where project managements meets scrum masters with their scrum teams.
  • Solid Program Management and Project Management Background which entails:
    • Ability to Project Manage multiple projects under a Program
    • For each projects, develop a project team (or, understand which scrum teams and external teams are involved) and project plan that coincides with our Release Plan and Sprint windows
    • Track the progress of each projects separately, working closely with the scrum masters and external partners to collect the detail of the progress, changes, risks
    • Summary and communicate the progress of each individual projects to its stakeholders
    • Then, summarize all of these separate projects from the program level, providing the Program level overview and progress status
    • Manage/identify risks and come up with the mitigation plan with appropriate team members and track the mitigation actions
    • Ability to perform an immediate impact analysis to the overall project and/or programs in the face of any changes, delays, and/or materialized risks and provide this information to the appropriate team members, leaderships, or stakeholders for decisions
    • Master of the communication of all above information – accurate information at the right time to the right individuals to provide them the ability to make the best decision when needed.
    • Be ahead of the project plans instead of reacting to the dates
    • Ability to keep the team accountable to both deliverables and process.
  • Solid understanding and background in Agile Delivery Methodology – Scrum Masters and all the Scrum concept and ceremonies.
  • Work from home for the contractors/consultant may be approved in a rare one-off situations, case-by-case.   They are expected to be in the office, in person every day.

Technical Exp needed:

  • Some level of understanding of network and service architectures is desired 
  • Some level of understanding of site operations would be helpful
  • Cross team experience and skills to foster team work and drive key requirements among a large set of external and internal teams
  • Effective communication skills to keep teams informed, address issues, and manage changes in the project
  • Organized to gather requirements, create plans, determine dependencies, and manage the creation and delivery of a Move plan
  • Experience with some of the below tools: 
    • Jira 
    • Confluence 
    • Slack, or IRC
    • Azure or AWS Control Screens 
    • Microsoft Project
