Production Technician – Soldering Technician 2nd or 3rd Shift

Location: Lewisville, Texas

Terms: Long Term Contactor

Overview:

• The main responsibility of this type of resource is to replace faulty components using hand soldering tools and BGA soldering equipment.
• Resource needs to have experience in this area and have been certified previously according to IPC standards listed here.
• IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldering Electronic Assemblies IPC 7711/7721 Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies IPC -A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to read component layouts and identify component values.
• Must have one year prior warehouse experience.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and applications.
• 20/20 corrected vision and the ability to distinguish different colors.
• Perform assembly and circuit board modifications according to established procedures.
• Test components according to specific procedures.
• Perform incoming visual inspection and measurements.
• Replace faulty components to comply with established standards.
• Perform assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform visual inspection to identify non-conformities.
• Perform corrective actions on cosmetic faults.
• Use automated test equipment to perform pass/fail tests.
• Prepare products for shipment.
• Comply with ESD and safety directives.
• Properly maintain tools and equipment.
• Record work performed and parts exchanged on repaired units according to set procedures.
• Consistently communicate relevant information to the Lead, Supervisor and next shift.
• Prioritize work to meet team objectives.
• Receive items by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, unpacking containers and recording bin locations.
• Verify items received by inspecting conditions of items, comparing count/measure of items to purchase orders and/or packing slips, noting discrepancies and documenting items received.
• Determine the transfer of orders received by routing or delivering items to the appropriate staging locations or requesting department.
• Prepare shipments by identifying information, quantity, condition of items, pulling, packing, crating, and labelling containers.
• Enter appropriate information into transportation approved container and bill document and label printer.
• Follow team procedures and work instructions, understanding and implementing these procedures.
• Record all work performed into the appropriate tracking system or documents.

Education Requirement:

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Desired Experience/Education:

• Repair Services solder certification preferred or other similar certification in soldering and assembly.
• Prior inspection experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting of less than 30 pounds.
• Office skills and activities including typing, answering phone, copying, etc.
• Exposure to temperature (i.e. uncontrolled temperature environment in warehouse), noise, dust, fumes and chemicals.
• Requires general physical demands such as sitting, standing, seeing, reaching, lifting, bending, and hand dexterity for purposes of performing the essential job functions on a daily basis.
