Purchasing Specialist

On behalf of our client Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada CDI Professional Services is seeking a Purchasing Specialist.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing procurement support to multiple departments
• Requisition processing, insurance of purchase orders, price reconciliation, and service contracts.
• Work with end users to define requirements and specifications
• Investigate and implement sourcing of new products as well as re-sourcing existing products include vendor rationalization where appropriate
• Co-ordinate with engineering and manufacturing to implement lower cost alternatives.
• Work with other departments to achieve efficiencies and communization where possible
• Identify new suppliers and assess supplier’s competitiveness on cost, as well as their quality assurance processes and procedures
• Work with specialists and suppliers to achieve and sustain supplier expectations (performance)
• Some travel required.  Valid driver’s license and valid passport to travel to U.S.A. necessary.
• Day Shifts with Overtime as required.
• Must be flexible to work in Cambridge/Woodstock.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of the procurement processes and 3-5 years in an enterprise systems environment
• Strong negotiation skills to process complex purchasing agreements, prices, delivery for goods and services.
• Possess a good understanding of freight coordination in-bound and out-bound
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word and Project. Experience in SAP would be an asset
• Related experience in the automotive industry preferred

Anticipated Start Date: 

• January 2017

Assignment Length:

• 3 month contract (With 12 month renewal pending budget approval)

Location:

• Must be flexible to work in Cambridge and Woodstock
