The engineer will provide technical support for customers of the AF Capabilities Integration Environment (CIE).  The CIE provides Development and Testing environments for Program Management Offices (PMOs) in support of their application development and deployment engineering process. 

This individual will be a member of the CIE Infrastructure team and support actions including but not limited to: system administration, installing and configuring COTS applications, installation of various computing and networking hardware components, server maintenance, and virtualization. 

The individual should be an experienced engineer, capable of handling a key role in managing the development and maintenance of OS environments to include Windows, Unix, RHEL in a highly virtualized environment.

Required Skills

• Develop and design solutions (physical and logical) that are in compliance with best engineering practices
• Perform configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of Windows, Unix, and Linux environments
• System Administration
• User Account Management
• COTS product installation and support
• Server installation, maintenance, and patching
• Providing guidance to junior engineers and engineers new to the CIE
• Documenting relevant information for support
• Occasional after-hours support

Required Experience

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a US citizen and able to successfully obtain a SECRET clearance
• CompTIA Sec+ce certification
• Senior Level or Equivalent professional experience
• Effective communicator both oral / written
• Strong team player, shares knowledge
• Should demonstrate drive, initiative, and take ownership of tasks
• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 administration
• 2+ years of RedHat Enterprise Linux systems administration
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, configuration of network services and installation of COTS products on Solaris and RHEL
• Experience working with VM virtualized environments
• Strong analytical and/or troubleshooting skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience writing/maintaining build scripts and creating automated builds and deployment capabilities for applications
• Knowledge of software development principles and design patterns
