POSITION: Press Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Production Engineering

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• • College graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.?

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Direct experience with Japanese OEM (Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, etc.) preferred. ?

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• • Knowledge of welded assemblies, stamping dies, fixtures and gauges, GD&T.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM applications & drafting.
  • Japanese and/or Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Ability to travel to customers and manufacturing plants, approximately 25%.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• • Participate in review meetings for process plans.
  • Provide feedback on issues and/or concerns with process plans.
  • Provide engineering support to overseas plants.
  • Offer feedback on process plan issues to Car Body Engineering Development Center (reflect to sales prices).
  • Provide impact to sales prices due to design changes.
  • Coordinate with UPJ and manufacturing plants.
  • Examine press load when quoting.
  • Study processes, including O/S cost reduction.
  • Identify optimum production allocation among manufacturing plants in North America.
  • Control maturation readiness for launch.
  • Hold process plan review meetings.
  • UPJ die Tachiai.
  • Provide Tier 2 suppliers with guidance for MP.
  • Scrap for obsolete dies.
