Job Title: Technical Writer III

Description:

Content strategists / UX writers are the voice of Google. They craft intuitive, inspiring text in graphical user interfaces on the web, on mobile, in cars -- everywhere people engage with Google. UX writers collaborate closely with product managers, designers, researchers, and others to imagine, design, test, and deliver products that are relied on by hundreds of millions of people around the globe.

Overall Responsibilities

• Write clear, concise user-interface text for mobile apps and web-based products
• Collaborate with designers, researchers, prototypers, product managers, and engineers to define user content requirements.
• Develop content concepts for early-stage products. Provide data-informed insights to improve existing user experiences.
• Help coordinate translations, improve writing tools and processes, format documents, and generally lend a hand as needed to produce world-class software and hardware products.

Requirements:

• Degree: English, Journalism, Marketing
• 5 years of professional writing experience, preferably writing content for mobile apps
• Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills and proven ability to present clear text/design rationale
• Meticulous grammar and proofreading skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate a company's voice across multiple contexts
• Experience working closely with engineering and product management teams as part of the collaborative software development process.
• Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong project management skills to manage multiple creative projects at the same time
• Knowledge of online technology (mobile apps) and related technology and products.
