Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this Supervisor position is to assist the Terminal Manager in the full range of duties and responsibilities involved in the management of the facility; to provide backup coverage when the Assistant Terminal Manager is out or unavailable; to gain a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of both the operational and administrative responsibilities; develop and exhibit the necessary leadership, analytical/decision making and managerial skills.

Job Responsibility & Accountabilities:

  • Assist the Terminal Manager(s) in the oversight of the operation with SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT being the highest priorities next to financial stewardship.

  • Supervise team members.
  • Lead, train and develop team members.
  • Must be available and flexible to work all shifts as business needs require.
  • Manage all shift guidelines (vacations, overtime, relief, scheduling, absenteeism, tardiness, etc.)
  • Assist Terminal Manager(s) with interviewing internal and external applicants as needed.
  • Fill in for team members due to business levels when necessary
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Be able to participate in customer meetings to build relationships.
  • Maintain and develop safety culture among all team members.
  • Routine communication and coordination with other corporate departments.
  • Complete all applicable documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • 2 years of Supervisory experience or 5 years of Operations experience in a plant environment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills for a multifaceted work environment.
  • Must be able to use a computer, fax machine, telephone, and applicable computer software such as Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication.
  • Detail oriented and customer focused.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational problems.
  • Familiar with applicable Federal, State and Local regulatory agency requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
  • Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge, above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position.
  • Experience in Crude Oil handling from railcars, trucks, and tanks preferred
  • Railcar switching
