Description/Comment: This position will be the Central Supply Chain / Supply Chain Engineer representative to work closely across all  sites with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, along with outside suppliers to assist in identification and selection of mechanical hardware (Nuts, Bolts, Screws, etc.) for a  - wide Common Parts Catalog database. Additionally, using mechanical should cost competencies, identify mechanical hardware cost saving opportunities across sites Additional Job Details: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Input to the Mechanical Hardware Approved Parts List (APL) and (AVL) Approved Vendors List. Participate on cross-functional teams to implement hardware standardization within the Company. Assist in Value Engineering (cost reduction) projects. Support Material of Concern efforts, e.g. RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc. Define and implement metrics for analyzing cost reduction achievements. Consultant in design reviews for the purpose of component selection and standardization. Apply Should Cost statistical methods for analyzing data to evaluate the cost variations of components. SKILLS: Experience with of all types of Aerospace mechanical components Requires Aerospace Mechanical Engineering & design experience with an emphasis on mechanical hardware component selection, and application. Minimum of 5 years experience in Parts Management and Standardization methods, systems and practices Working knowledge of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Aerospace Industries of America (AIA), MIL Standards, and other industry standards for Mechanical Hardware. Understanding of mechanical component manufacturing processes. Mechanical component supply chain experience helpful Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports Operations and material procurement experience a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Cost breakdown & analysis of commodities by part family (taxonomies). Analysis of site spend based on commodities identification of should cost opportunities. Provide summary reports (MS PowerPoint and Word) using statistical analysis tools Review piece part pricing with commodity managers and supplier(s) Excellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced professional environment.
