GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide Configuration Data & Maintenance Management for various U.S. Coast Guard Surface Assets’ Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems.  Assets can include Patrol Boats, Icebreakers, Ocean-Going Tugs and Buoy Tenders and all Cutters. 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Provide sustainment support in the areas of Configuration & Maintenance Management for U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Boats, Icebreakers, Ocean-Going Tugs and Buoy Tenders and Cutters.
  • Review, analyze, and process configuration data from multiple government maintained data sources provided in various formats for the purpose of maintaining accurate configurations for for U.S. Coast Guard Patrol Boats, Icebreakers, Ocean-Going Tugs and Buoy Tenders and Cutters in FLS/NESSS
  • Complete Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis on HM&E systems
  • Provide assistance in conducting formal Mini- Maintenance Effectiveness Review (Mini-MER)’s, using SFLC Engineering Services Division Mini-MER model.
  • Plan and execute Mini-MERs, gather relative data, schedule meetings, compile reports, and manage approved recommendation updates.
  • Conduct evaluations on HM&E and ELEX maintenance and logistics support for planned and emergency repairs of Coast Guard Cutters.  Analyze cause of casualty, and make recommendations to change maintenance practices to preserve functionality and achieve the highest reliability at the lowest life cycle cost.
  • Analyze SFLC LREPL business practices to include but not limited to working hours, cutter deployment profile, scheduling, scope of dockside and dry dock repair availabilities, stocking of and pushing parts, and deficiencies in organization/depot level maintenance. Make recommendations to resolve issues.
  • Edit and incorporate comments and changes to maintenance documents and databases.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred 4 years’ experience providing USCG entities with HM&E Configuration Data & Maintenance Management for CG assets, including 282’ WMEC, 378’ WHEC, 399’ WAGB, 418’ WSML.
  • Technical experience in the operation, repair, and support of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E), and/or Electronics, and/or Ordnance, and/or Navy Type Navy Owned (NTNO) equipment.
  • Certified by the Coast Guard or NAVSEA as RCM analysts.
  • Basic understanding of Preventative and Corrective maintenance principals, MPC development, and corresponding MPC accomplishment.
  • Knowledge of the Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) supply support procedures.
  • Good writing skills, utilizing the applicable documentation resources.
  • Proficient in the use of Coast Guard Standard Workstation III.
  • Experience in Microsoft® Power Point©, Microsoft® Word©, Microsoft® Access©, Microsoft Paint®, Microsoft® Excel©, and Microsoft® Project©.
  • Proficient in independent research using the Worldwide Web.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Security Clearance is not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • CARRYING and LIFTING. Ability to transport and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Employee may access remote areas of multi-level vessels
  • Must comply with Company’s Driver Safety Policy if assigned to operate company and/or rental vehicles
