Primary Responsibility:

The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect is a leader in strategy and innovation in the evaluation of existing systems and technologies and in the development of strategic solutions and blueprints to solve stated business challenges.

This individual will focus on a service oriented architecture style to lead enterprise wide design, and evaluation of new technologies that improve and enhance Enterprise Infrastructure Systems reliability, availability and serviceability.  In this role the architect will be focused on settings standards, designs and implementation of IT infrastructure and associated management tools.  The architect will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that technology decisions and blueprints align with the overall Enterprise Architecture Framework and Infrastructure Roadmap. 
 

Knowledge/Skills/Ability Summary: 

The Enterprise Architect should have:

  • Prior experience in developing solution designs in the areas of Data Center Transformation & Migration involving Storage systems – SAN & NAS, Servers Infrastructure, Virtualization, Consolidation, HA, Backup/Archive and DR.
  • Worked on and/or provided guidance to implementation projects involving large setups of SAN/NAS/Compute Virtualization/Consolidation/HA/DR.
  • Experience in DC Infrastructure Migration and Transformation, to include but not limited to P2V and V2V server consolidations.
  • Deep expertise around current and trending industry best practices in the various aspects of IT, enterprise operations knowledge and the ability to aid technical and business teams in developing solutions to implement key business strategies and if necessary developing migratory solutions to those new solutions.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, collaborative, and leadership skills with technical organizations and management teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience with effectively presenting technical information at the Director and CxO levels.
  • Effectively worked with Off-Shore teams to implement Infrastructure initiatives at multiple global locations.

Job Complexity:

  • Directs the overall strategy, architecture and process improvements for the Enterprise Service Platform.
  • Provides guidance to IT Leadership and Project Managers on implementing best practices with: assessment of new technologies; implementation of POCs; capacity planning; performance tuning.
  • Maintains an organization-wide view current and future business and application architecture in support of goals and objectives.
  • Acts as expert for infrastructure teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT solutions.
  • Responsible for complete design, systems analysis, and security
  • Drives short & long term architecture strategy for the overall IT project portfolio
  • Communicates and validates program architecture with infrastructure team, project management team, and other organizational teams.
  • Conducts end-to-end technical plan design.
  • Develops enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms.
  • Responsible for impact analysis and design modifications to existing systems to support new solutions.
  • Develops specifications for interfaces from existing to new systems.
  • Provide last level of support for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise.
  • Communicate and collaborate with IT team members for configuration, troubleshooting.  
  • Assist with vendor identification, engagement, selection, negotiation and relationship management.
  • Mentor team members.

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas.
  • Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.
  • Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration and applications layers
  • A bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required for this position. Industry and leadership certifications may be beneficial as well.
